ibis Styles New York LaGuardia Airport

New York Subway theme hotel. Less than a mile from all terminals. Minimalistic in a good way. Kind staff. The inter terminals shuttle might even stop at this hotel if you ask the driver.

Hotel is nice, however I think it’s crazy that an airport shuttle fee is charged when the hotel is literally within walking distance. Most hotels near the airport does not charge a fee to transfer to an airport nearby. I could see if the hotel was more than 2 miles from the airport but next door? It’s another way to make money like the hotel doesn’t make enough being next to the airport. I’ll take my chances at other hotels like the Holiday Inn who offers free shuttle service and a discount on food and beverage services to airline crew members.

Check in, bar, food and room was great. The room was definitely different from normal hotels which was a nice experience. How ever the shower pressure sucked and the curtain rod was somewhat broken and the moveable lights next to the bed. All in all though nice hotel with a nice taxi flat rate to Manhattan or cruise terminal.

We stayed here on a last minute weekend getaway on a very popular weekend, and prices were very high everywhere. I found a somewhat reasonable rate and chose it despite mixed reviews. The hotel itself is bright, clean, colorful and new, and we felt safe there. The room itself was fairly large, but the bed was rock hard. We ended up sleeping on our jackets to try to find some comfort. In room amenities were minimal, with a wall soap dispenser and no wash cloths or even a pen and paper. It was quiet enough in the room despite being next to the airport. The shuttle was unpredictable and a little scary, and after a couple harrowing rides, we opted to switch to Uber to get around. All in all, it was just okay. The bed would prevent me from staying there again.
