Brothers Taverna

This is the 4th time eating here, everything great again! I read most of the reviews and I'm really surprised with the negative ones.
I drive from nj to Astoria to pick up gyros sometimes and I come to brothers taverna, it's as close as it can get to the ones they make in greece.

We were in the mood for some Greek food today and happened to be in the neighborhood. The restaurant is really lovely and laid back. The servers are so nice and friendly. We ordered two gyro sandwiches, trio dip with bread and a Greek salad. Surprisingly, on a quiet Sunday afternoon, the food took a really long time to get to our table. We weren't too worried though as they gave us lots of complementary bread with olive spread as we waited. I thought the gyro sandwiches were very tasty and the dips were great but I was a little disappointed with the Greek salad. It was mostly tomatoes with a little bit of cucumbers, onions and three olives. Also I thought the price was a bit on the high side. Still it was a lovely lunch.

The food quality was great, fresh and flavoured, portions are quite generous, very friendly and accommodating servers. not sure of the names but young lady who worked on Sunday was super nice to us and my little baby boy. I would definitely recommend this place as a casual family friendly restaurant.

Outstanding food and the staff are always so nice. The pork and rice platter is a must first time order. Enjoy

This is my favorite Greek restaurant in Astoria Ditmars. The thing that makes it the best for me is their service. Friendly, kind, attentive staff takes care of us every time we go. The food is good, as it is at many Greek restaurants in the area, but none can match their service. The restaurant is very contemporary and extremely clean. On a beautiful summer day, the glass walls open up and expose most of the restaurant to the outdoors... I love that.
