We had a 4 hour NYC layover we took cab (no train from la guardia). Went to the only Italian restaurante in China Town, Magna. It was a great find. Our waiter Fabio was truly Itslian. He was from the lake como and Cicely area. The whole family seemed to be at the restaurant tonight. Food qas great. We had Vitello alla Bolognese, Veal scaloppini with prosciutto and fontina cheese served in a white wine sauce and a special includomg chicken stuffes with mushrooma and fontina with a marsala sauce. We had to.get the chocolate torte with some vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries and blueberries.
The first thing I love abut this place is they don't sacrifice space for tables. The tables are nicely spread apart. Can't tell you have many restaurants have the tables so close you have to worry about moving your seat back because it is going to hit the chair behind you. The service is great. They do not rush you, answer any questions you have on the menu. From appetizer to dessert..... just great. Manhattan type restaurant in Queens without Manhattan prices. Great place to take family or friends for a meal and a nice night out. Of course you are not going to make everybody happy and there will be people who will always complain about something. Feel free to see for yourself.
#great for family dining or an intimate dinner.
Not the best steak for $30. The service was great! The food was alright, but given the area it's one of the best around. Good Italian hole in the wall.
Wonderful Italian restaurant in the heart of Flushing. Gnocchi was excellent as was the Chicken Parmesan on another visit. Also recommend the beef tortellini soup. Felt a little bad for the servers as they seemed to go non stop but still provided great service. Highly recommend if you want a change form the Asian fare in the area.
