A great restaurant for German food. The decor is very rustic and very pleasing. One can totally relax and enjoy the time spent here. The hostess and the servers are very friendly, courteous and attentive. The food is authentic and tasty. Every table is given a home made rye bread with butter. It is the best rye bread one can get. The beef goulash is so tasty. Also tried the veal cutlets with a side of cream spinach. Absolutely amazing! The alcoholic coffees are a must have! The portions are very generous. They also have a store attached to the restaurant where you can get the best ham and bacon in town along wit the home made rye bread. Have already been to this place 3-4 times. Have lots of things that I still need to pick up from the store for making hearty breakfasts at home!
Great food and atmosphere! The decor is traditional and subtle, just a nice German house. And of course, inexpensive but delicious German beer. Definitely try the dunkel! My only "complaint" is that all the food is a little pricey, for the area and in general. But I've come to expect that at most German restaurants, and the good homemade taste makes up for it.
It was so wonderful! The food and atmosphere were authentic! Can't wait to go back again!
The food, apps and entrees, were absolutely delicious. The service... was inconsistent. I feel like we got the waitress that's worked there for 40 years and you're just going to get the service that you get and nothing above and beyond. We noticed that she was significantly more attentive and friendlier with other groups aside from us. She warmed up towards the end when she gave us our check. Naturally. We ordered the apple strudel for dessert and were surprised at how quickly it came out. We realized because it had been microwaved. So the strudel flaky crust was not flaky or crusty at all. It was warm and soggy. And tasted like it had been in the refrigerator for a day or two. We will definitely be back to try more of the entrees and maybe a different dessert unless they can guarantee that the strudel is fresh.
Great German place to eat and to meet friends. Very Friendly Staff. Good choice of German Beers. Their Pork store is connected to the restaurant you can go from one place to the other get great German cold cuts and other German groceries. They also have to go frozen dinners and soups. Only German restaurant in place left in Glendale I must go
