(February 10, 2019, 11:43 pm)This is the best Portuguese Restaurant that I've had in New York. Not only were the waitresses friendly and helpful, the food was fantastic. I went there thinking that it was going to be 'adequate' tasting but I was pleasantly surprised. It was delicious. I will DEFINITELY be eating there again and again.

As I sat in this wonderful establishment I was greeted by the most amazing waitress ever! I think her name was Sophia. She was very polite and friendly and down to earth. She even recommended something I would never try, but promised me it would be amazingly delicious and delightful to my taste buds. So I took her advice and ate the dish that she recommended! To my surprise my mouth salivated
and exploded with extremely intense and wonderful AUTHENTIC Portuguese flavors! The meal was cooked to perfection! Juicy and succulent and oozed personality in the form of graceful plate presentation.
It truly delivered a taste like no other and cleansed my pallet of previous tastes that can longer match what they brought to the table... I highly recommend Mateus Restaurant to anyone that wants to have a taste of Heaven in their mouth!
You won't regret it! A Michelin Star is truly deserved!
