Albanian Grocery

Small ethnic grocery that offers a variety of Albanian food and items. Food was fresh, hot and pretty good. Clerk was helpful explaining various buffet style foods. Worth a visit if Albanian food is your thing.

It is my preference store becouse, except the cookery is special and delicious, the store's name is Albanian, same like my nationality !

Great fresh food - It was laid out buffet style, and you get to pick what you what you want on your plate. Authentic Albanian Chicken, rice, and vegetables were flavorful and had a home-cooked vibe to them. Recommended.

In the new Albanian Grocery on Fresh Pond Road, we learned to make perfect byrek. The owner has become a successful pizza maker since coming to the states ten years ago, but with this venture goes back to his roots and provides the food of his home country to Ridgewood's Balkan community. We discuss the prominence of Albanians in the New York City pizza scene and why knowing how to make good dough translates across cultures and straight back to byrek.

Besides these amazingly light byrek pies, the small grocery store also cooks enough items to fill a steam table and offers hot food from mid-morning until evening. It was a joy to spend time here and be welcomed into the kitchen to watch byrek being made.
