This place is one of a kind. No reservations so expect to wait for dinner rush especially on weekends with good weather. However the owners will usually be there to greet you with complimentary wine while you wait. The seafood here is excellent. I highly recommend the sea bass, best I've ever had. The platter with the shrimp and lobster is also excellent although the stuffed clams and shrimp are a tad greasy for my tastes. Some of the best calamari I've had. Also the ribeye was surprisingly good for a place known for it's seafood.
This is my favorite restaurant in the whole entire world. Amazing seafood options! The food is always fresh and delicious. The scallops are always a hit. The calamari is always amazing as well. And to top it all off, they give you a piece of dessert on the house after your meal(which always tastes heavenly). Best seafood spot in Astoria!
This place is truly a home of mouth watering grilled seafoods and kebabs. I live around the area and always wanted to eat here but the line is always long. Well, no wonder why! My friend and I tried their pork and chicken kebab and it was grilled to perfection. It’s how kebab should be prepared. Tender and juicy. The rice pilaf was very good too. Our server was very attentive. Bread was warm and dessert was FREE. I really enjoyed dining at place. Happy eating!❤️
My first visit there, but a favorite of my daughter who lives nearby. Excellent food and good sized portions. Friendly staff and good service despite how busy it gets. They don't take reservations, so be prepared for a wait.
Top notch! Unassuming and bustling. This is not a fancy restaurant, but the management and staff take great care of their customers and every plate they put in front of you. Everything we passed in the vicinity was quiet, but The Taverna was packed, with a wait list. Definitely a nice detour on the way out of town via LaGuardia.
