My favorite of the Astoria souvlaki stands (though all of them are pretty good!).

You can see and smell this cart from blocks away. It is like the song of the siren calling to you. Just follow your nose and you will be rewarded with a nice meaty treat. You have the choice of chicken or pork. There are also salads and hot dog if you really desire. I always prefer pork over chicken. I also like to keep it simple and just get lemon juice and salt sprinkle on the skewer.

The skewers are a very nice snack or meal if you are less hungry. A piece of bread comes with the skewer. It would be wise to take it because it will soak up all the goodness. It's juicy so try not to spill on yourself.

Each nugget of pork has just a bit of char and they are so tender. Each bite brings you closer to porky bliss. Each souvlaki is $3 and they are delicious. There are other sauces to get but he does season lighter compared to other stands. He's friendly and so sweet for making some delicious pork.

Hands down the best Souvlaki stand I’ve had! The meat is perfectly cooked and the service is great

My partner and I absolutely adore this place. The owner is such a sweet guy. The meat is grilled to tender, juicy perfection. We normally get souvlaki pita — amazing tzatziki and lemon-y, charred meat on soft pita bread for only $5. Just a simple thought of it makes my mouth watery. If you pass by (neighboring Artopolis bakery is a great excuse to come around in this corner), go get a souvlaki or pita!! (And thank me later)

I happened to walk by this stand one day and noticed a line of people waiting despite the below-freezing temperature, so I decided to give it a try.

Skewers are $3 each. The meat is seasoned simply with lemon and salt and grilled to smokey perfection. They also come with a hunk of crusty-on-the-outside soft-on-the-inside bread impaled on top. I ordered the chicken skewer, but I found out later that the pork skewers are what they're known for. (Guess I know what I'm getting next time!)

Service is fast and friendly. Glad I decided to follow the crowd!
