La Mian Lounge

I've had this restaurant bookmarked every since I found out they reopened and were offering a special reopening promotion. For ten bucks you get three meats over rice and a bubble tea. So I went yesterday and ordered the roast pork, spare ribs and chicken over rice and an order of their Taiwanese fried pork chops over rice, also ten bucks.

They weren't set up for outdoor dining yet so I got my order to go. When I got home, I found that they forgot to pack my bubble tea. I was disappointed but didn't bother to call. Luckily, the food more than made up for this oversight.

The pork chops were delicious. This dish was actually not on their menu but I saw a picture of it on their Yelp page and asked if they offered it. The pork chop was cooked perfectly, was very tender and had great flavor. It came with a halved tea egg, one piece of steamed bakchoi and minced pork over the white rice. I will diffinitely be reordering this dish again.

The three meats over rice was also very good. The roast pork and spare ribs tasted very similar to each other, quite rich and fatty. The steamed chicken was very tender and juicy. Overall I enjoyed the food and am planning on coming back to try more of the menu

La Mian is a great little spot. You can see the chef hand stretching the noodles through a window into the kitchen. We got the veggie with wide noodles and the Lamb with the regular size. We also got the brisket, eggplant, chicken and tofu with fish skewers. All of the food was a bit spicy except for the soups. We added the egg to the soup and it was awesome. The food was really good overall and the service was great.

Delicious and halaal! It's nice to watch the noodles being hand pulled. The special tasting appetizer allows you to sample each of the skewers. Small but cozy inside. Added appetizers make it a full meal!

Delicious food unlike anything else you'll find in Astoria. The noodles are great (and made to order), appetizers and skewers tasty as well. Small but nice space to sit, open kitchen to watch the chefs in action, and friendly service. Great addition to the hood!
