Really love Filipe cooking! I always get a Philly Cheesesteak with some fries and always on the spot. This place also serves Fried Oreos which I tried for the first time! Amazing. Thank You Filipe and also to Junior for the Customer Service. They treated everyone with respect even the kids coming in after school. Junior actually brings the food out to your table instead of having you pick it up from the Counter. If you are in the area, please check these guys out.

John's pizza used to have specials. On Tuesdays, a large pie was $7. They sold the business to a local bumpkin and it failed. New owners. A little makeover. Decent pizza, but $3/slice is the norm now I guess. Shared a nice chicken parm hero ($9.50) with my daughter. The sicilian slice was quite good. Regular slice also good. I'm glad this pizzeria re-opened. Maybe they'll recognize the local demand and price some specials into the menu. John's knew that they would sell a ton of pizza on a Tuesday night if it was priced right. Lasagna on a Wednesday for $6. Even at a discount, a business like this won't lose money, rather make a huge chunk toward rent on an otherwise quiet night.

Went here at the beginning of summer and took some notes for my review. For starters, if you're familiar with this past location, you'll know that it used to be John's Pizza which had $1 cheese slices and was a popular place for kids to come after school as it is directly across the street from P.S. 100 and a few blocks down from M.S. 226 and the food was well-priced. Unfortunately, if you liked the particular style of food and prices at John's Pizza, you won't be getting that here.

Obviously times have changed, and prices everywhere have increased, but even with this in mind, the prices are still higher than they should be. In many places in Brooklyn and Manhattan you can still get $1 slices, but here, their slices are $3. In fact, they may have raised their prices even more since I've been there a few months ago because I saw that they had old prices crossed out on their printed signs and so I'm assuming their website might not be up to date either.

As for actual table service, it was pretty good. There were only two people there when I went, an older man and a young man who looked about 17 or so. Food took a while to come out, but for a small business with only two employees on a weekday evening, I can excuse a longer than normal wait time.

In terms of food, the buffalo wings were great. They had a nice crispiness factor, a bit of classic Buffalo spiciness, and were actually sauced adequately. Was definitely surprised by their quality. They came with an ample supply of blue cheese which is always welcome, but no carrots or celery. The garlic knots were also very good and came with marinara sauce.

However, if you come to Lefferts PIZZA And Grill, I'm assuming you want to know what the pizza is like. While the pizza was not the worst pizza, it definitely needs improvement. It was styled more like the pizza from a Chuck E. Cheese with a mountain of cheese all over it to the point where every slice was not only heavy, but soggy as well. As much as I love cheese, this was not the way to make a proper New York slice and given that this location used to make great pizza when it was John's, I was a little disappointed. Also, something completely random that I thought was cool was that I found sparkling green tea ginger ale in their drinks refrigerator! I only ever saw these one other place so it was a pleasant surprise to find a drink here that I really love (but maybe don't go all the way here just for this drink because they might not even sell it anymore).

Overall, definitely not a bad eating establishment, but they could use some improvement with pricing and the way they make their pizzas to make eating here regularly worth it.
