Thai NOOdle - after trying once during my initiation to the HK Food Court, I sort of wrote it off due to higher prices and small portions. On this outing, they put up a promo that I just couldn't resist. They've made every noodle dish a "combo set" option. Actually it's not an option except for that one lower priced chicken dish which you'd add $1.  Basically, you automatically receive a free appetizer bun and a can of drink. The guy at the order counter was modest, polite, and friendly as he explained and took order, and that was much appreciated.

Now that appetizer bun (bao) was the real lure as it was pictorially depicted in the promo signage - I am a big fan of gua-bao.  Well, it turned out the bao was tiny and the protein was beef, not pork belly.  BUT it was still icing-on-the-cake, and who should complain about icing-on-the-cake?!

We ordered #2, #3, and #5.  All were beef variations.  #2 was the sliced beef noodle soup; #3 the sliced and stewed beef combo noodle soup; and #5 the stewed beef chunks with soup on the side.  I would recommend #2 because those beef slices with pink were the most tender.  In an ideal world, I'd love to have #2 with soup on the side.  That way I can take my time and the noodle would stay al dente!!  Now I've got to mention that the broth is unique - a bit herbal and some might think medicine-y, but I like it nevertheless.

The establishment has apparently taken much concessions to increase business. I remembered about having small portions - NOT any more. They give a huge amount of quality proteins and even the serving size of noodle is now bigger. I might even venture to say that some people may run out of room for that tiny bonus bun appetizer!  I'm not sure if the establishment actually read my review on HK Food Court, but they've literally addressed all of the issued I mentioned.

An absolutely satisfying meal for only $9.99. As long as the set menu continues, it's a no-brainer and a must-try if you find yourself at the HK Food Court.
