Quick tasty convenient Thai food in Elmhurst. Dependable. Good pad Thai. You will be satisfied and happy!
You can't be a just okay Thai restaurant and survive in this neighborhood.
Fantastic Thai food at a fantastic price.
Drunken Noodles ($7.50 lunch with basic meats like pork with choice of spring roll or salad): Their searing of both the eggs and the pork were a definite step above your typical Thai joint. Had a delicious charred flavor reminiscent of street skewers.
Basil fried rice ($7.50 lunch with the same as above): Well-done, with a good level of spice at medium.
Their salad is a Japanese-sesame sort of dressing. I liked it better than the spring rolls.
You can use your Discover card in here. Which is rare in Elmhurst restaurants. Clean and nice dinning environment would surely make your meal a pleasurable one. Besides all that. The food is also as good as their service.
I've eaten here twice, both times with large groups. The first time, the owner was there and sent out their best dishes and they were very good. The second time some of the dishes were overly sweet, but we enjoyed ourselves. Get the Miang Kana, it's a Thai street food dish of pork, lime chillies, etc. It's fun to eat wrapped in Chinese broccoli leaves. Their basil pork is very good. Be aware that their curries are hot!
Spicy food, large portions, service with a smile! Can't say that about many restaurants in NYC. Papaya seafood salad was wonderfully crisp and fresh, curries were spicy and flavorful. Best Thai food this side of Thailand. Tables are a bit cramped though. Best to order take out.
