When you live in Castleton you get excited when anything opens in town. But The Poke Jar caused next level excitement. Everything I've had so far has been excellent and beautiful. Plus it's a really friendly place. I look forward to working my way through the whole menu!
Awesome new spot to have in the area with great food. The variety of goods on the menu is great but the quality of the food is the star of the show. Everything is super high quality and delicious. It's so good that I don't mind going out of my way to eat in or pick stuff up
We found this amazing little gem of restaurant just outside of Albany. So cute and charming. The service was great, the guys working there were super friendly and attentive and made sure we were happy with everything. And the food was some of the best we’ve had! We loved everything we tried.
The sushi was so fresh and beautifully prepared. Of course we had the poke, it was fantastic. We had the chicken wings too, loved them! We also shared the Korean beef tacos, they were amazing. The ramen was beyond-simply delicious. We love dumplings and these were some of the best we’ve ever had. So happy we found this place! This is our new go to place- can’t wait to go back
It's a newly opened place with a friendly staff and very nice decor. I had the fried Oyster buns that were cooked perfectly and outstanding. Then I went with the Lord Hicks (#12 on sushi menu) which i enjoyed equally. A nice change of pace if you are in the area. 😊👍
Poke Jar- Really nice sushi spot right on the river which has a small town feel. They play music you would hear cruising in your car along the beach on a sunny day that definitely caters to any audience. Sushi is really good quality ingredients. This place has been around for about a month or so and you can't go wrong with it. Pricing is very fair considering other tiers of sushi restaurants in Albany or around the capital district. I started out with the Dragons Den Ramen which is very very good, I would give it a 4.6* I get mine extra spicy!
I finished off with the pork belly buns by recommendation Which are out of this world!! (thinly sliced marinated roasted pork belly on steamed bro bun with the other ingredients, sauce and toppings)
I’ve never had anything like that before but I can tell you that these were Phenomenal!
If you want to impress your date come here for dinner, if you just want a casual lunch then just come for lunch on the weekdays!
