Shishito

We wanted to try a different sushi place and picked Shishito from other reviews. The place is a typical nice sushi restaurant with Mello music, nothing different in the atmosphere.

There sushi was better than ok, but not better that other good quality sushi on the island. We did try 2 of the special blue fin tuna rolls which was good but the blue fin was hidden in the spicy tuna sauce which negated the reason for blue fin. FYI, normally I would not eat blue fin, but since it was a new restaurant, we tried it.

One of the best sushi restaurants on the island! Everything is always so fresh! A few times we ordered online and someone at the restaurant called shortly after to say they were out of one of our items. He recommended something else and did not upcharge for the new more expensive item! So nice of them!

I went here for my girlfriend's birthday not too long ago. The owner of the store (so sorry, I forget your name!) was the nicest person as well as his staff. It is a nice cozy place, I personally love it. One of the person's in our party has a gluten allergy and the staff made sure to tell her what had gluten and what didn't which was very nice. Definitely will be going back here soon.

Exceptional new place in Staten Island. You can call a few days ahead and order aged steak or a certain kind of fish that usually sells out quickly. The owner always surprises you with great order suggestions. Fish quality is superior. There are many great appetizers with black truffle oil...Just an amazing place all together!
