I've been coming here almost since it opened, and have very few complaints over that time. I wouldn't order any of the steaks, but their enchiladas are absolutely fantastic, and the guacamole is top-notch.
The only big issue are the servers. Most of the time they're perfectly fine, but once in a while, even the place isn't packed, they'll seem to completely forget you. One time, my wife and I went in and, after being seated & given menus, our server didn't so much as bring us drinks for half an hour. We didn't bother waving him over because we were so fascinated by watching him walk past us over and over again without so much as a glance. We walked out.
This was an extreme case, but just keep in mind that once you're ready to order, you should flag down your server, especially if he hasn't been coming to check on you.
Overall, however, highly recommended!
Authentic as they come. This restaurant serves some of the best guacamole I've ever had in my life. Best yet, they even make it at the table for you so you can see what goes inside of it. I was disappointed in myself for not liking the mole sauce. Not because it wasn't prepared well, but because I actually don't like the taste of chocolate sauce. Although I didn't like it, I can still tell it tasted genuine and authentic. This restaurant makes you want to explore outside your comfort zone.
Always start with the guac, they make it fresh at the table. Fabulous margaritas, decent food and happy staff. Never a long wait
Been coming here since they were in a basic pizza parlor style and now great authentic Mexican decor complete with a full sized horse adorning an authentic Mexican saddle for the kids. Great food including guacamole made in front of you & delicious tamales, great Cadillac Margheritas, and a festive atmosphere. Best Mexican food on the area!
Hacienda is a very pleasant surprise in Suffern not far from the Lafayette theater. It has a great atmosphere, and we are always made to feel like family as soon as we walk in the door. The service is excellent, and their food (served in generous portions) is delicious as well as authentic.
