West End Bagels

Wish this existed when I was in High school- breakfast sandwiches all day and all the toppings I love-

Bagels are really great for upstate bagels. It’s really nice to be able to get New York City quality bagels all the way up in Clifton Park. However, don’t order their whitefish on a bagel. Two days in a row I ordered it and they barey put any whitefish on the bagel. I mentioned it to them the second day that I ordered it and they still put on so little that I could hardly even taste it.

The bagels are delicious. Love the fact that they add caraway seeds to their everything mix. The staff is very well coordinated. The shop was busy and they were good at multitasking to expedite the service.

Decent bagels for the area. Soft, and not very chewy so a higher gluten flour would be nice, but I'll admit to being very picky about bagels. They also use the "poke a hole" through forming method for the bagels, they're not rolled around the hand like most NYC types. Would be 3 star, but they get an extra point for having lox and the friendly service.

My daughter and I have been going for Friday morning bagel fairly regularly for the past year. Recently the morning service has been luke warm at best and today we were treated by the gentleman behind the counter just plain rudely, so we will find another location for our Friday morning tradition. UPDATE -great response from the owners contacting me to understand my comments. I appreciated how they listened and cared about my review. thanks.
