Carson's Woodside Tavern

Someone in the kitchen knows what they are doing. Went on mussel night and had the leek cream sauce - mussels were cooked perfectly and you could eat the sauce out of the bowl with a spoon it was so good. Wings with house ranch were very good. Fried fish was fried to perfection - super crispy but not over done. I could tell by some of the other plates I saw pass by, like the scallops, that whoever is in the kitchen cares about the food they are serving. Great view of the lake from the deck is a total plus - really nice outdoor bar area with view as well.

The scenery and atmosphere is excellent. The views of Saratoga lake are impressive and make for a unique night out. The staff also appears to be very friendly and responsive. The beer selection and food quality leave a bit to be desired though so don't go to Carson's for those reasons. Instead go for the friendly atmosphere, reasonably priced drinks and fantastic view.

Consistently excellent all the way around. Great food and specials that don't break the bank. Shhhh it's where we locals go to get away from it all...did I mention the lake view? :)

I've been to Carson's twice. Once for lunch with my girlfriends, the second time late afternoon for drinks on the patio with a mixed group. I enjoyed myself both times. Food is very good and the view of Saratoga Lake is awesome. Will definitely return.

Went yesterday for lunch at 1pm. Didn't leave until 3pm. Service was terrible! We waited about 25 minutes for our apps to come out. An order of calamari and an order of shrimp and they were nothing great. Then a burger that was ordered to be cooked medium was rare, roast beef sandwich had no sauce on it and instead of putting the sauce on the side they gave us a cup of plain horseradish. Who wants plain horseradish?? And to top it all off we waited about 45 minutes for our food to come out, and they double charged us for our drinks! Beautiful place but they have some work to do on their food prep and service. Not recommended for a "quick" bite to eat that's for sure! Not impressed at all.
