Great breakfast for a special celebration. The bloody mary's are heavy on the horseradish - just giving you a warning.
Food was awesome. Not something you would make at home. Presentation is excellent and drinks of excellent quality. If you are looking for large portions this is not the place. There is enough to be satisfied but not too much. Quality above quantity. Also if you are looking for cheap, this is not it. However it is worth it once in a while...
The service was excellent and the food was delicious. One thing was peculiar. I ordered a medium steak. The steak was presented open-faced. It was rare. If it wasn't presented open-faced I might give the chef the benefit of the doubt. So I thought that was a little bit odd for a five star restaurant. I still ate it though and I tipped the wait staff! Overall great job but I'd be having a chat with that chef.
I figure it makes sense to rate a restaurant in four categories: quality of food, service, atmosphere, and price.
The quality of food here was quite good. My family generally enjoyed their orders. Two quibbles: one, I felt my omelette was more egg than anything else--the mushrooms and cheese were excellent but not found in a third of my bites--and two, my brother's order was served as fried without the menu making that clear, a style of preparation we both prefer to avoid.
Service was great. Our waitress was attentive throughout. Thanks!
The atmosphere is the best part. Go on a sunny day and bring sunglasses, because the whole roof and rear wall is clear glass. It was a really nice brunch environment.
Finally, price was okay. I don't like portions so large that it'd be irresponsible to finish a plate, and in that sense these we pretty reasonable. Compared to other brunch spots I've visited, though, you'll spend a bit more for the food here.
If you want a really pretty spot for a brunch not so big as to slow you down and don't mind going a few bucks higher, Blue Hen right on Broadway in Saratoga is a good choice.
