Hattie's Chicken Shack

Went in out of curiousity and was realized this place wasn’t for me. The menu is 90% southern style chicken, everything is fried. That being said, if you like that sort of thing. You’ll love Hattie’s!

Delicious gluten free fried chicken with dedicated fryer for customers with Celiac's disease! Manager was very nice on our first visit. Regular fried chicken is good too.

Sweet potato fries were really good as always, but the chicken itself had a strange taste. The breading and skin was as awesome as it always is, but the chicken itself was not. I had to spit it out. Also, their soda is horribly over chlorinated and it ruins the taste of the soda. I dumped out at least 3 different beverages, no flavor could mask the taste of a swimming pool. These fast food establishments MUST invest in water filtration!!! (I don't know if when I was a kid they put in less chlorine or if we just got used to it, because I don't remember this. I know then everyone drank tap water and now everybody drinks bottled water, so you're going to notice the chlorine a lot more). I ended up getting the "fresh brewed" black iced tea and putting lots of the pure cane liquid sugar in it. The tea tasted old, too.
