We love good barbecue, and this place had it. First time visiting, since we were only in the area for a couple of days. We ordered the 3-meat meal with an extra plate, and there was plenty for both of us. Very good meal, good wait staff (who checked with us several times to make sure everything was good. He refilled my drink without my having to ask, which is uncommon these days. All in all, a very good meal and nice atmosphere. (We even saw a couple of pit crews from the weekend race in the restaurant, along with some bigshots from at least one race team.) Fun!!
The 3 meats included pork, brisket and kielbasa, along with baked beans and coleslaw. All the meats were delicious, although my husband especially raved about the kielbasa. He savored every bite! The sides were delicious, as well. Don't know when or if we'll ever get back to the area, but if we do, you can be sure this will be one of our stops!
We stopped for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. Some of the comments on wait staff were unflattering. I found no such problem. Staff was knowledgeable and attentive. The food was wonderful and not expensive as other commentors noted. Perhaps they saw the deficiencies and corrected the problems. Anyway, I give it 5 stars.
Good BBQ place in a quaint little tourist town. The restaurant had a modern industrial feel with a small bar. There are about 15 tables inside and a seating area outside that's dog friendly. The service was fine. We really liked the pork nachos and they came out quickly.
Though the fried pickle appetizer and brisket lunch sandwich were quite tasty, the service and drinks left a bit to be desired. My signature cocktail, 'ashes to ashes', tasted more like 'ice cubes to water,' and the server (though super friendly) wasn't able to evenly split the bill down the middle for me and my friend. Try their Carolina BBQ sauce - out of the park!
This place is a MUST! Tucked away on Franklin near the lake, there's a sunny dog-friendly patio that opens directly into the well-stocked bar which also features fun alcoholic slushies. The menu is fabulous... Just follow your appetite, you can't go wrong. If you really can't decide, ask your server for their favorite dish and then buy a round for the kitchen, you won't be disappointed!
