Village Tavern Restaurant & Inn

Great place to stay in Hammondsport. It's not fancy but it has what you need in a great location. The people are amazing and welcoming. We had dinner at the restaurant one evening and it was outstanding. If you are looking for a great location and don't need a five star hotel, I would definitely recommend this place!

Great place! Loved everything about it: the atmosphere, the friendly service and the great food! The first time we came a bit late and although the kitchen was already closing they went out of their way and prepared us the food nevertheless. We returned on the following evening :)

Ordered the Grouper Seafood Etouffee. It had no scallops in it, which was the reason I picked it in the first place. The fish was dry and over cooked, No flakes at all. Bread was very good. The crab and artichoke dip was good. Other meals at the table was said to be good. My Captain and Coke had no fizz and was weak. The service was very good.

Had dinner at the Tavern for the first time this year. Had the Best Prime Rib ever, tender and tasty. They are my go to restaurant for prime rib. Also had the seafood chowder and as always was spectacular. Had a bottle of Finger Lakes Red Wine from their extraordinary wine cellar. The wine was from 2010 and it was at its peak moment for drinking, smooth and velvety and complimented the prim rib perfectly. I've never found a Finger Lakes wine selection at a restaurant like the Village Tavern. As always, It was a great wine and dine experience. I can't wait to go back and try some of the new items I saw on the menu and pair them with wine from their wine list.

I have been coming here for years and I love the place! I can't imagine who wouldn't! Food and service is top notch! Seafood chowder, French onion, Grouper all amazing! See you not soon enough!
