J T's On the Bay

I loved this place for the delicious bar fare, the views, smell of salty air, and the occasional mermaid who mysteriously sheds her tail in the parking lot somewhere, then orders a Blue Point beer. Priceless. Okay, there was only one mermaid or too many beers. I did a solo bike tour from Western Suffolk County to find refuge and refreshment here. Love this place. Seating outdoors or in. Awesome.

I was directed here because of similarity with Doug's Fish Fry in Skaneateles, NY. It's no Doug's Fish Fry by a long shot. Is JT's nice? Yes and food was good as in likey delivered by SYSCO, so technically you could get same food elsewhere, local pubs, restaurants etc. Don't get me wrong, place is pretty cool to eat at and hang out at and I would go again. Serving size on my fish and chips was a five star. If Google didn't "send me here" on basis of similar to Doug's Fish Fry I would not have been disappointed in the least. JTs will not disappoint you.

For the 20+ years JT has been in the business, his little paradise is the place to be! The staff and food are Second To None! No matter whether there is a wait or not, my family love his food and hospitality, so it's certainly worth waiting for! Can't wait to see his constant change and numerous specials on his menu......

This is a terrific local restaurant with wonderful water views. We've been here several times, and each eating experience is better than the last. The staff are respectful and welcoming. The kitchen takes pride in all dishes served. When you order a roast turkey BLT, you get REAL turkey slices. There is nothing a customer can order that will be a disappointment. For a neighborhood 'local' restaurant, this place is excellent!!!

The food was fantastic, the wait staff perfect, looks like a great atmosphere but in my case I called 3 separate times to let staff know a party of 15 was coming and they told me OK, we don't take reservations. That is okay! I get it but I made sure 3 separate times, I was assured it was fine and when we got there, they were blindsided with our guests. This was a graduation lunch (specified on the phone as well) . The communication is off. JT himself was there my family and myself spoke with him about the situation. I decided to go with the flow because of my son's special day. If I were ever to do it again I would get every name I spoke to and held them accountable. Somehow they knew of the party of 20 on that day but not my own. Excellent food and drinks.
