The rice pudding is one of the best things here. The gyro is delicious and so is the chicken soup and lofts. The owner is super nice and the staff is as well.
They will go out of their way to accommodate. Try them out, you won’t be disappointed.
The best Turkish Restaurant on Long Island; has the best Chicken & Iskender Gyro; food is always fresh and delicious!!! Their Baklava is amazing, it’s mouth watering every time, I love their Hummus also, just an outstanding restaurant with lots of choices and the owner is the most friendliest person ever, staff is always nice & polite. I highly recommend Swan Turkish Cuisine to everyone!!! 5*** I eat here every week. Thank you????????
Iskender is delicious. I love it. The staff is friendly. I love rice pudding. And the chicken soup amazing
Swan Deli just started serving Turkish food and when a few coworkers went for lunch and I peeped their food, I wanted to give it a try. I ordered the lamb gyro and red lentil soup lunch box. Comes with a can of soda for $10. Not a bad deal. Also ordered rice pudding. The gyro came in a wrap instead of pita bread which at first i was really disappointed about. I love pita bread. However, the gyro ended up being a lot less messy to eat so it worked out. The lamb was seasoned perfectly, was just a tiny bit dry. The lettuce and tomatoes were basic, tzaziki sauce was thin. I personally prefer thicker tzaziki sauce. Good flavor though.
The red lentil soup was grainy but maybe that's how it generally is? I've never had it before so I have nothing to compare it to. Wasn't a huge fan. It came with bread so I used the soup to dip the bread in and threw out the rest.
The rice pudding was actually delicious. Sweet but I enjoyed it. It had a thick layer on top that congealed when it cooled and at first I was afraid to eat that part but it ended up tasting good, slightly reminded me of the top of creme brûlée.
The woman at the register gave me a free piece of baklava which was delicious. Loaded with pistachio.
Verdict: I probably won't go back, honestly. Staff was friendly. Food was ok. I may return for the baklava.
