Athenian Greek Taverna

Only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the pace of the service. Have been there twice and both times food has been amazing. Have been in search of a good Greek place after the Mediterranean in Huntington closed. This place may have finally stopped our search. Baklava isn't up to Mediterranean standards but is good.

All the food is as flavorful as it gets. I have yet to find better Greek food on Long Island than Athenin Greek Taverna. Incredible gyro, pita, and Greek Yogurt Sauce.

So far, the best Greek food I've ever had. Love their portions, lemon potatoes, lemon soup (seriously, anything lemon give me). I think they recently started a lunch menu, their prices were pretty good too.

Somewhat of a long wait but not unexpected on a Saturday evening, and well worth it. Food was fresh, flavorful, and rich, nicely presented, and portions were generous. In addition to a couple of fish dishes we had a lamb kabob and meat stuffed peppers. We also had a delicious appetizer of haloumi-stuffed red peppers. And we enjoyed a bottle of the house red wine, a dry Greek wine. Very good. Staff was also great. Helpful, available, and friendly. Our third time here. Recommended.

Portions were very generous at this corner neighborhood establishment and the staff was quite pleasant. Had the flounder with a circumference of mussels, made for a nice presentation (see photo) & tasty too. The decor was in need of some refinement though.
