Great food! I have tried the tacos and burritos and it's definitely higher quality than other places. The chips and salsa are very different but amazing! Service so far has been great. I've been here quite a few times already and have no complaints yet. Great job El Patron!

Ok... I know... it's another 5 star review. Like I said in the past... if I have nothing good to say it's not worth doing a review. I generally stick to reviewing a 4 star or 5 star place. 3 star middle of the pack places become subjective. The only time I break from this mold is when I feel the need to save somebody their hard earned cash because a place is absolutely a disaster. So onto the review... El Patron Bar and Grill... 5 stars all day long... all night long!

Home made chips... different from your run of the mill tortilla chips. Really good, the sauce they were served with was also different. Not so much as like a salsa but more like a thicker heartier type of red sauce... different experience altogether.

Empanadas... we ordered 3 chicken and 3 shrimp. Wife, Daughter, and me all agreed they were excellent . The chicken was partially chunked and pulled... marinated very well and the sauce they were in was great also. The shrimp were the small variety in order to fit in the empanada and there were plenty of them. Also had a fantastic sauce on them and reminded me very much of how a street taco is done... very light... not drowned in sauces... great textures.

Be prepared to have your phone out to google names of dishes... My 8th grade Spanish wasn't cutting it... some of the dishes I knew... a lot I didn't. Everything sounded so good we couldn't decide... eventually we settled on 3 dishes that we would all share.

Carne Asada with Tostones (fried pork with fried plantains)... pork cut to perfect sizes... seasoning was awesome and not over powering. Tostones cut to the perfect thickness... smacked with a spatula and fried to perfection. Really Excellent.

Camerones Al Ajillo (shrimp in garlic sauce with white rice and red beans)... Nice big jumbo shrimp cooked perfectly in an extremely tasty sauce with nice bright chunks of red and green pepper. White rice and red beans... the red beans were done differently then I have had them... And now I only want them like this!

Mofungo with Churrasco ( Mofungo is almost like a small dense cake made from a mash of fried green plantains, garlic, salt and a few other things... Churrasco is grilled meat, they did a long marinated seasoned skirt steak ). First let me say that the presentation of all the dishes was excellent but this one stood right out... it was beautiful! The mofungo portion was exactly how I remembered it when I had it in Puerto Rico... extremely tasty. The garlic type sauce that was on the side was over the top and had a nice kick of spice to it! The churrasco was cooked perfectly... and seasoned very well... not too much... not too little... just right.

El Patron is really an Excellent restaurant... We will definitely be going back. This restaurant is exactly what this area needs. The location is in a tough spot... right in the middle of a residential area... but well worth seeking it out. Make the effort and you will be rewarded with an explosion of wonderful flavors and textures... Seriously... El Patron is a homerun of an experience! Go there and keep this place up and running they are a wonderful addition to the community.
