“This is one of my go-to favorites and wishes there were some in Nassau County. The Golden Pear in Southampton sits on the corner of Hampton Road and Main Street. Arguably one of the best locations in the Village! As you enter or leave, you can pick up your favorite paper, bakery bag, or a cool drink. As you ease into line, there are self-serve coffees, and you can place your order from a baked item like muffins, croissants, pastries, bread or order from their hot breakfast items including, eggs, bacon, wraps, sandwiches, that all come with either a side of fruit or salad. As you walk a bit, there is a case of daily made paninis, sandwiches, salads and quiches. And at the next register, you'll likely smell the pleasing aromas from the near hot lunch staples like Skillet Mac and Cheese, Turkey Chili, Meatloaf, and many soups. You get a side of bread and can add a salad or fruit. The food is delicious and served speedily. There is seating inside and out. There is a television usually tuned into Cable News 12 for the latest of the goings-on. There are restroom facilities here too. This is one golden franchise to visit!”

“What a gorgeous place to have a weekend brunch! It’s South of France meets the Hamptons! The Duck entree melted in my mouth and the food presentation was spectacular! Stayed over the weekend with my boyfriend at the hotel which our travel agent found for us, what a score! The rooms are adorable and there’s even a little summer pop up shop with the coolest clothes and jewelry! Loved it all! The new owners are very charming, we will definitely return!”

“I come here fairly often. The drinks are great, with a wide variety of craft beers and cocktails. I haven't eaten much of the food, mostly bar appetizers, but what I've had has been really well made and tasted great. The staff here is one of it's best selling points. Personal and friendly they never fail to get a laugh. Would recommend if you're looking for a nice evening out. They have live entertainment on Fridays and sometimes on the weekend. Not sure of the exact schedule though.”

“Romantic, cozy, exquisite foods and presentations, truly Le Chef is among my very favorite restaurants. In the summer season, reservations are essential although, there is a high bar so if you want to take a chance, go for it. Tonight we enjoyed their French Onion Soup and Caesar Salad. The broth has a little white wine, and the bread is crusty and topped with Gruyere. It is delightful. The shaved parmesan and crunchy croutons complement the crisp greens and a light dressing. For our main course, I opted for the Baked Salmon and Ratatouille. Surrounded by a delicate sauce, the salmon was cooked to perfection. The skin was extra crispy and brought forth great flavor. My husband chose the Monk Fish Francese. Proclaiming it was the best he'd ever had, he contemplated ordering another as he's done since our high school proms! I am so accustomed to the servers expressions when reorders dinner for his dessert as some times the manager comes to the table to verify his choice. The Monkfish was so moist and tasted like lobster. The lemon butter sauce was exceptional as well. But he wanted the homemade cheesecake with a raspberry glaze, so he stuck with dessert this time. This is a great little spot on Jobs Lane. You won't be disappointed here ever!”

Not only was the food absolutely DELICIOUS but the chef/owner came to every table and our server, Erin, was beyond sweet, attentive and personable. The summer staff often includes foreign exchange students who travel between New York and Florida locations during their stay stateside. “Meandering along Noyak Road, you will happen upon a great restaurant, The Coast Grille. Decorated in oceanic tones and offering views of the marina, inlet, and Peconic Bay, sunsets here are particularly impressive. The owner, Pam Miller, greets you with a heartfelt welcome and makes you feel so glad you'll be dining here tonight. There are a good sized bar and ample seating. The two dining rooms look out and appear to be able to be separated for a private party without compromising views in either space. Tiny twinkle lights crisscross the ceilings making this a romantic spot and festive for friends to celebrate life. They have nightly specials and a menu that has interest and variety. Tonight's tempting appetizer choices included Oysters Rockefeller, Coconut Shrimp, Seared Scallops to name a few. We opted for our favorite, The Creamy Cream Clam Chowder. It is aptly named as the creaminess is not dense but more typical of what you'd expect from fine French cuisine. The touches of green onions add another welcomed dimension in flavor. Their Spicy Shrimp Curry Soup is a strong rival as well to savor. Previously, we have enjoyed their Cola Short Ribs and Paella. But tonight we opted for the marinated New York Strip Steak and Roast Half Chicken. The steak, cooked to perfection, included a mixed greens salad with a vinaigrette sauce that complimented both. The chicken was moist yet, the skin crisp. The French beans were tender and yielded to sharing the shallot butter along with the chicken. Just delicious. Regretfully, we left no room for dessert tonight but strongly recommend ordering any choice as all are decadent and presented artfully. The Chocolate Truffle Cake, Key Lime Pie, Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sandwich are all family favorites. So add Coast Grille to your GPS, then sit back, enjoy a glass of wine, taking in the views and aroma. Pam will make sure you see not with just your eyes but with all your senses as that is what her vision brings to this dining experience.”

They do have limited seating inside and a dedicated parking lot if you prefer to dine in casually. They have crispy egg rolls, decadent shrimp toast, delicious dumplings, sweet and meaty spare ribs, and many of your traditional favorites. I particularly enjoy their Chicken Egg Foo Young. The cutlets are succulent and sauce not overly burdensome. They have a delightful, fragrant fried rice and tasty soups too.
