The Outpost

My family and I decided to get something to eat with each other in celebration of two family birthdays, and decided to try out The Outpost. None of us left disappointed. We sat at the outdoor seating on a nice summer day and the employees immediately made themselves available to join two tables together for us. The meals were all well made and well portioned, with good pricing. I think these three are a necessity for any business in a small town in this region to remain in business in the long term. The owner personally introduced himself to us and made sure we were having a good experience. It's definitely a place I'd return to for a quick bite or to bring some friends/family along with me.

The owners Nick and Jess outstanding, friendly and welcoming are just a few words to describe them. They are so warm and welcoming from the time you arrive into you leave with a more than full stomach of over the top food. Absolutely be prepared to unbutton the button on your jeans 😁 by the time you take your last bite of food. Oh my goodness how far the they has come in such a short time. The original menu delicious the new additions oh my sweet baby Jesus I didn't think it was possible but even more scrumptious.

Great place to grab lunch (or any meal) with the added plus of a great outdoor bar serving your favorite cocktails! The outdoor patio area is large with plenty of seating options from tables to Adirondack chairs. There is also seating available inside with another bar area and air conditioning. The Outpost Team was fantastic! Took time to answer any questions we had on the menu and also checked on us often to ensure everything was in order. The owners are great! Went out of their way to make sure our experience there was satisfactory.
The menu has plenty of options. Portion sizes are large and food was excellent! Definitely will be stopping back any time we are traveling in the area! Highly recommend you try!

As a note: You may see this place listed as The River Restaurant and Bar on Google Maps. This is incorrect. If you “zoom In” you will see The Outpost listed. The Outpost is correct.

What a great place to enjoy lunch in the Catskills. Awesome outdoor bar. Great food - love the burgers. Super friendly service. And open on Mondays (when free other places are).

It was a beautiful day and we decided to try The Outpost for some outdoor dining. Being greeted with a smile and a glad you are here attitude, was a wonderful start. It only got better from there and every bite was rewarding and spot on. Old school, fresh meat and chicken cooked to order and served the way you ordered it. Prices too good to be true and so refreshing in this crazy world right now. Today was just what we needed!! We shall return 😌
