I got lucky at the Lucky KItchen. No I didn't fall in love but the food was surprisingly good. I gave up on Chinese food a long time ago. My favorite dish is General Tao's (and Crab Rangoon's) but every Chinese restaurant I've been to serves big chunks of stringy, bready, chewy chicken. And I've traveled the US pretty extensively and have tried Chinese food all over. It sucks. But not at the Apalachin Lucky Kitchen. The meat was all meat, nice sized pieces, cooked and seasoned well, and the Rangoon's were not only delicious but stuffed to the brim (literally) with a very tasty filling. I don't ever say this about Chinese food but I would eat there again. From the reviews, I'm not saying anything the locals don't already know. On the one hand I would love it if this restaurant were in a bigger town so they could grow their business but on the other hand, I think being kind of small probably encourages them to serve a higher quality product so they can compete locally with other restaurants. But hey, if you're passing through on 17 or you live in the area and haven't tried their food, stop in and treat yourself and help this lovely family stay in business. You'll be glad you did! Best place for Asian cuisine! Close to home too! Great food, service and they have the best soup! ????
