Old Mexico Restaurant & Cantina

Very friendly, neat and professional staff. I enjoy going there almost every weekend. The bartender dude is awesome, he makes my drinks and serves my food quick.

My friend and I came to Old Mexico Restaurant & Cantina. It is a nice little taco place to eat and chill. It was Taco Tuesday and the specials was dollar tacos which were only beef and chicken. The decor was well decorated. I had ordered a Mango Margarita and Tequila Shrimp Taco platter. My friend ordered three beef tacos. It was simple as can be. It was in a flour tortilla with lettuce, sharp cheddar cheese And beef. It looked like a Taco Bell soft taco. I wasn’t expecting to see that. The mango margarita was really good perfectly made. Just the right amount of tequila. The Tequila Shrimp Tacos were really tasty and flavorful. The only problem it wasn’t served with limes on the side. I had to go to the bar and ask the waiter for some. I would have given a 5 star but there needs some work on the plating presentation.

I've been here several times and have always found the food to be good but the service mediocre at best. Things get forgotten or take ages, we're barely checked on during our meals, and so on. It's fine, and they have a nice tequila selection if you're into that, but you might have to ask for it twice.

Good Mexican food. I've never been disappointed here. They have lunch and dinner specials, and a bar. It is the only real Mexican restaurant in Ithaca.
The bathrooms are really nice, clean and nicely decorated. I love the hand painted sink.
