So ya. That about sums it up. Great, great, great location with not much left in regards to "voids". The room (Captain's room) was cozy and was perfect for what we needed it for, literally a place to sleep. I think they could have at least upgraded the TV's but totally understand why it's not a priority. Although, if the weather hadn't had held up... I'm thinking a larger TV could have come in handy.
Excellent spot to spend a night and get some down time with your significant other.
I came here for the spa and was taken back by the beauty and tranquility of the grounds. There are flower gardens, animals, fresh fruit and produce growing, chicken and peacock! The grounds are well maintained and are free to walk for everyone using their facility. The spa service was excellent and, though can be pricier than other spas, was well worth the extra money. There are well marked paths that bring you to ponds that have swan, geese, and duck, as well as waterfalls. I would highly recommend coming here. I am looking forward to coming back.
The ambience of the spa was nice, nothing too special or over the top… Just a nice ambience. I scheduled a deep tissue massage several weeks ago. The massage Heidi gave me was pleasant, but I was very disappointed, as this was definitely not a “deep tissue “massage. I also felt everything was very rushed. The massage Itself had very fast movements, just something I am not used to, especially with deep tissue. Since the massage time was cut by 10 minutes due to sanitizing they said, I asked not to massage my legs or feet and to focus mainly on my neck shoulders and lower back. I was told they do a full body massage and they could not do a focus massage. Again I have never experienced this anywhere else I’ve ever gone, the therapist usually asks where you want them to focus. This visit was due to a gift certificate given to me, I will use the rest of the certificate in a different area of the spa, just not for another massage.
Buttermilk Falls Inn and Spa is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are phenomenal, with a lovely view of the Hudson, picturesque ponds, and rolling greens. The owners have rescued most (all?) of the animals, which were so fun to visit.
Make sure check out their beautiful aviary, with 2 chickens coops and the peacocks are a riot. If you’re staying in the North Cottage you will definitely hear them coo and squawk!
Our experience with the staff was excellent-everyone was super friendly and they went above and beyond to help us.
Dinner at Henry’s was amazing-if you like cocktails, highly recommend the Bees Knees and the scallops were delicious. Breakfast is included-it’s a small menu with impressive execution by Chef Jennie - who would have thought Zucchini Walnut pancakes would be so life-changing!
Overall, our stay was lovely and restful-a truly beautiful property, and we can’t wait to come back!
I was here in January. Beautiful grounds and a very nice room. It was an extremely restful and peaceful few days. The best part was the food at the restaurant - some of the best food I've ever had and the drinks were great too. Included breakfast was yummy and made to order and daily tea-time was a cute touch also. I also got a massage which was out of this world. Thank you.
