Goosefeather

Having eaten here once before, I am thrilled to say that my initial impression was not simply "love at first bite". That's because everything the second time (last night) was once again SPECTACULAR! After being greeted warmly by Kathy (yes, I remembered her name), my party and I were seated in the beautiful and comfortable dining room where we enjoyed non-hurried cocktails which were followed by a relaxed, well-paced meal of culinary gems. The scallion pancakes were complimented by a tangy dollop of Turkish yogurt, the duck was moist, rich and flavorful and the noodles with wild-mushrooms provided a nice counterpoint to perfectly prepared scallops. Service, setting and cuisine are each an easy 10...so, this is not a one-night-stand for me...I am looking forward to a long-term relationship.

Overall, this was an incredible restaurant but there are reasons why I wish I could give it 4.5 stars instead of just a 4 or a 5. The food was excellent, no question. The drinks were delicious. And the restaurant itself is beautiful. The negatives (and these truly are overshadowed by the positives) - it is a bit pricey for Westchester - these are NYC prices. And the service is... well it needs some work. Everyone is kind and well intentioned, but there were a few issues here and there. Again, still an amazing experience overall.

A very idiosyncratic restaurant with a delightful atmosphere, that I would never have known about, if not for staying at the Tarrytown House Estate. I must say that the duck, combined with the accompanying sauce, was the best duck I have ever had! I will definitely be back in the future!!

I visited Goosefeather while I was on my honeymoon and if I get the opportunity I will return! We did not stay at the Inn; we came because of the food and the location. The food was AMAZING and the atmosphere was inviting and stylish! It also is not too pricey. I would recomend this as a unique place to go on a first date. The scenery and the Inn are beautiful. My husband and I ordered the limited menu in the bar area. We ordered 3 appetizers and the food was so good we ordered two more. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Our server, Barbara, was great! Also it means a lot that the restaurant owner was seen walking around checking on everything. Overall a fantastic experience!
