Just moving my son and future daughter-in-law to the Mebane area. Checked yelp and found Catrinas. The first time we visited there wasn’t many people in there and the service was horribly slow, but the food in the end was outstanding. So about five days later we went back to take my future daughter-in-law, sat at the bar and ate dinner. This time the service was outstanding as well as the food and drinks. Highly recommend!
May 15, 2019. Update: Still AMAZING!! They make such a great Margarita too! They make their own sour mix. Trade up for the top shelf (I think it is called the El Diablo, I could be wrong.). Get the Guacamole!

Oh my word! Don't let the hard to find location and the size dissuade you from visiting! This was the best Mexican food I've had in a very long time. Not your average canned salsa and beans. Definitely on my return gosh visit list!
Catrinas is one of my favorite places to eat in Mebane. The food is great, the drink prices are reasonable and I enjoy the atmosphere. However, the service is lacking at times. It often takes the servers a while to get back to the table and you have to ask them for refills on simple things like water. One server CONSISTENTLY asks what you want to drink before you even sit down at the table (we have had her twice). This place would be a lot better if their wait staff was more attentive and they had more training.
