Glenda Just Desert & Lunch

Found this place online but while visiting Clearwater Campground in White Lake NC. I asked two of the campground office staff for recommendations for a place to get a good meal, comfort food in a casual restaurant. After they named a few of the same ones I'd seen on Google I mentioned "Glenda's Just Desert and Lunch and both ladies said "yes ! you won't regret it !" so off we drove. I have never had a better experience at any restaurant. I ordered fried flounder, baked mac & cheese, fried breaded okra & cornbread. Its been years since I had flounder that I ate all of it even the skin which was crispy to perfection. The okra was tender and flavorful yet crispy, baked mac & cheese had a great texture underneath the baked brown cheese crust. Glenda personally came out with our food & then again later to check on us. We had a great conversation about one of her twin sons who is attending school in Winston Salem near my hometown. She and her husband talked with us for several minutes about several things. Their hospitality and sincerity were so appreciated. I will definitely be going back & recommend this place to anyone that appreciates good home cooked comfort food. I must mention that Miss Glenda's specialty is desert which she spoke passionately about. I was too full to eat any of her tempting sweets but did get a serving of each, hunybun cake, a cream cheese poundcake and something I can't remember the name of but is a type chewy bar with walnuts..I can't pick a favorite because they're all great ! Go and try Glenda's but go HUNGRY & soon...

My Boyfriend and I did a day trip from Shallotte NC to visit White Lake for the Day upon leaving we were unsure as to where to go on a Sunday to eat locally or in nearby Elizbethtown we just happen upon this place after googling it and from a few locals to go it would not disappoint!! I just want to say this little place was excellent the food was so good not to mention the hospitality that was shown us by the owner herself Glenda and her husband who made it a point to talk with us personally and to ask and make sure our food was good more then once! This is down home cooking at its best and the value is great not to mentioned the incredible Desserts which Ms Glenda specializes in! If you don't know the area go and look this little place up and I promise you will love it. Thank you Ms Glenda we will be back again and recommend to all our friends and family!

The service & food is amazing! Glenda has such a wonderful heart for the people of Bladen county.

I’ve been here a few times and honestly I can say that Mrs. Glenda is awesome! I’ve requested a birthday cake from Mrs. Glenda and it was AWESOME! Then, I come every now and then to get something and my food is AWESOME! Mrs. Glenda does an AWESOME job altogether.

The food and service are excellent! I highly recommend this restaurant.
