Macie & Ethel's Kitchen

My sisters and I took our mom to Macie and Ethel's for her 73rd birthday yesterday. We were very pleased with the meal and the service. One of our waitresses, Miranda, surprised our mom with dessert for her birthday! I especially loved the homemade ranch dressing, the tomato, cucumber, and onion salad, and the pimento cheese dip with crackers. Our family has been coming to Holden Beach for several years, and we love trying new restaurants. Macie and Ethel's was a hit with us and will be on our list of stops in the future.

This was the best meal I’ve had in a LONG time. The fried green tomatoes and fried oysters were to die for. Portions were perfect. Hospitality was exceptional. Cannot say enough good things about this place!!! We will definitely be back.

We were extremely satisfied with our dinners. The slow and low short rib is nothing like its title, but a delicious slow cooked roast reminding me of our delicious family pot roast . My husband ordered the fried chicken , it was crispy on the outside and moist within. The meals came with biscuits and 2 sides. If you save enough room, the dark chocolate silk cake was enough to share. Large, fulfilling portions on both dinners. Our server, Joe, was excellent. We highly recommend this restaurant if looking for a southern home cooked meal.

Delicious food and outstanding service! We had a girl’s weekend and celebrated a breakfast birthday. The staff made us feel so special and like we were regulars. The GM was constantly checking on us and other customers to make sure everyone was pleased with their service. This team was on top of it!
Needless to say, we liked it so much, we went back a second time. I highly recommend the cheese grits & biscuits!!!

This place is absolutely amazing! You feel like you are right at home and are treated like family from the second you walk in the door. Every single person in there is incredibly friendly! Our server was Ashley and she was fantastic! And then the food comes and you are just in heaven! The biscuits are astounding and the chicken is so good! I wish I had discovered this place sooner on my vacation! I wouldn't have bothered grocery shopping!
