Lockwood Grill

I went to blackbird on Friday and then again on Saturday and it was a blast! All of the staff were great! The bartenders had all of our drinks done quick and well made! I will totally come back here more often. Also the DJ was amazing! Truly one of the best nights I've had in Miami.

This was the first gritty dance and alternative spot to lift off by the Miami River that I used to frequent a lot. Lately, the crowd had changed and so had the music but they've kept their cool for the most part. It lost some grit but it earned some glam. I usually step outside in the back for some fresh air if it's is packed. They make a mean rum punch and it's never too sweet. It's on a corner with a lot of traffic so finding a finding a meter spot and crossing the street is a bit of a pain but sometimes I've found a open spot right in front- it's all luck. Certain nights I don't dig it as much but for the most part, it gets the job done. Plus, who doesn't enjoy a dance and a drink? Carry cash just in case- it always helps. Try their signature drink the Blackbird if the bar is packed because they come out quicker.
