Very tasty food. I had the pork with beans and rice (pictured). The pork was the best I've ever had! My wife had the chicken steak sandwich that was delicious. There's a nice shaded place to sit as well as tables in the sun.
I'm from S. Florida so I've enjoyed Latin-infused meals at a variety of restaurants and hands up this is THE BEST I've ever had. I had the pulled pork platter and it was overflowing with goodness. The meat was moist and tender, the rice was cooked perfectly, and the black beans were delicious. I typically never eat the black beans served with a meal because they are often bland, but not Guajiro's. They are mouthwatering good. The portion was big and allowed for a second meal at home. If you're in Asheville, you must try this place out.
Authentic Cuban food and really nice staff.
The food truck has plenty of outdoor seating (small tables to standup around as well as large tables with benches). Many of the tables have umbrellas for your comfort and shade.
The grilled chicken plate was around $15 and enough to satisfy 2 people who don’t eat a lot. Order it with a side of “Plátanos Maduros” (sweet plantains) or tostones (if you prefer salty plantains).
Brought my dog over and had a very nice meal. Between the order line up to when I received the food, it was about 15min.
There’s also ample parking space as the food truck is outside the Cotton Mill Studios building. After the meal, I took a walk around the park across the food truck and had a really great time overall.
I’m generally not a good truck guy, but after having several recommendations, I headed over on a warmish day to give them a try. I was 100% impressed by the quality, taste , presentation and volume of food I received. It was a $15 plate, but I definitely got my money’s worth.
Give it a shot, you should be satisfied with your experience!
Best Cuban food in Asheville sandwiches were fantastic the cafe con leche was spot on. Service and the location and placement of the place were immaculate.. definitely coming back early for the pastries and croquettes unfortunately they were out of them.
