Atmosphere is outstanding. Beautiful older building with many layers of interest. Just a relaxing & intimate place.
The service was standard, as was the food. They have some signature dishes, but they feel slightly shy of "wow" (they were good).
A definite hangout to kick back with friends or family to catch up, grab a cold brew and maybe a game.

Wish we could give it 10 stars!!! Amazing service. Tyler (manager) and Tricia (server) are both really great people and took phenomenal care of us - even on a busy night. Food was 12/10! We ordered the Bison Meatballs to start, and they were hands down THE BEST. We split the Brisket Mac N' Cheese, and Cajun Chicken Alfredo Pasta.. both were SO delicious! Our next trip to Asheville will def include a trip to Pack's!

This is generally a pretty consistent place to eat. We ate out on the patio with views of Pack Square this time. They also have a large indoor dining room full of windows which is rustically furnished. Known for its many taps of local craft beer, they also do a decent job with the food. The food is standard American food that you would expect from such an establishment. This time we ordered French onion soup with our lunch and were disappointed. It was watery and thin on flavor-needed to simmer a few hours more. But to be fair, it was my only disappointment out of the many meals I've had there. If you are a beer drinker you could pass a pleasant afternoon sampling from the great variety of choices on hand. If you are downtown around Pack Square it's a great place to duck into for a meal.

Wonderful staff and great food. The server was training 2 individuals today and they all did a great job. First time at this location and I have to say it's pretty nice. The only advice (which, is not their fault) is parking because of its location but wasn't that difficult to find a place (paid parking) to get to it. If you have time to look around or, enjoy the park area around, it's definitely worth the time to check this place out for a bite to eat or, one of their many beers on tap and wine (which are very well priced) 10/10 will be coming back!

We really enjoyed our first visit to Pack's Tavern. The place had an excellent vibe with a unique interior. Our host, Mallory, was super friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.
The food was fantastic. We had the corn dip to start - highly recommend it! The Southern Chicken Sandwich was great, and the sweet potato tots with honey mustard were incredible.
Management was stopping by each table, and was very friendly as well.
From a COVID perspective, they were very clean, and they adhered to the CDC guidelines very nicely.
A great stop for any first-timers in the Asheville area!
