Their breakfast is SO GOOD! I was HIGHLY impressed with how good & friendly everybody was. Our waitress advised us to put the cooked apples on top of the wheat pancakes & it was a GAME CHANGER!! I'm a biscuit and country gravy Southern girl and I got Excited when they brought it out but, I was very disappointed in their gravy ???? It was missing A LOT of seasoning and the grits were also VERY bland & VERY thick, like prison cafeteria thick. I would've given it 5 stars if those 2 foods werent bland. Besides the gravy & grits being nasty, everything else was DELICIOUS ???? The service was good, very attentive & nice. I'll definitely be going back!
Other than charging 2% sales tax for a prepared meal while other restaurants charge 6.75%, there's really nothing special about this establishment. The food is okay, although nothing to write home about. The portion sizes are respectable, the prices are good and the service is what you would expect at your local country diner. If you're looking for something with a little more elegance and taste, you might want to keep on truckin down I-40.
This was my first visit. My husband called our order in ahead and I stopped to pick it up on my way home. I waited the amount of time we were told it would be, but still had to wait and excessive amount of time. The parking lot was full and they appear to have a great business. The food was tasty and portion sizes were generous. We had two dinners, a dessert that came with a meal for an additional small price, and no drinks and the total was right at $31. I thought that was expensive for two to go meals.
Great home cooked meals like your granny made. Love the food and the atmosphere. Waitresses are a plus, keeps your drinks full. Place stays full of can customers. Recommend trying it out at least once, bet you'll go back again and again.
The restaurant looked old but clean. The wait staff was friendly and I never had to ask for anything. I had the country style steak, turnip greens, and potato salad. The steak was very good and the turnip greens were what I'd expect from grandma's house. The potato salad was good also.
