Such an eclectic little place. One of our faves since we moved to the Hickory area. Red is awesome.
Service was very good, it was our first time there and was surprised. How big the portions were had to take a bunch home. We enjoyed our meal but I had chili on my hot dogs I wasn't expecting her that chili but taste like it did but if you like it that was probably good thanks for the great service!
The people are nice and respectful and the food is decent. The sanitation could use some work. Ex. When you go to clean off a table for the next customer please use some cleaner.
50's dinner features all the classics, traditional southern meals and breakfast all day. I highly reccomend for food quality, atmosphere and service. The kids meals are served in a classic muscle car tray. The walls are decorated with home town high school memorabilia. Deserts are home made. Price point for all this cant be beat. Our family of 3 had dinner for $25
Since it was so bone chilling cold, when we left our grandson's game, we were in the mood for some warm soup. We have not been to Shell's in sometime, so we decided to stop there. We chose the homemade potato soup. It was hot, rich, creamy, big chunks of potato and delicious. The price of soup and sandwich was reasonable enough. We made the right choice!!
