Fantastic food and service. Nice to have the option to eat indoors or outdoors too. Food was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. Service was cordial and prompt but not rushed.
Ashley and Rhiannon were awesome in helping us make a lunch selection. The fried chicken and mashed potatoes were delicious. My wifes crispy chicken sandwich was delicious. The environment was very relaxing with soft music playing in the background.
Ill start with dessert, the banana pudding is Killer! Warm and sweet, topped with a meringue. We really enjoyed it. Atmosphere is just a room with some tables and little attempt at decorating. We had fried green tomatoes for the appetizer, very tasty. Presentation for the main course was nicely done. The pot roast was delicious. My wife had the gnocchi with chicken, she liked the gnocchi but was disappointed with all dark meat chicken instead of breast meat, which should have been pointed out on the menu.
Sadie’s Southern is a great and welcomed addition to the Veranda--just what we needed here. Food and service were very good. I had the pork chop and my wife had the pot roast. Both were great! Heard good things about the banana pudding and we were not disappointed; we'll definitely order that again!
Only room for improvement would be with the ambiance/layout. Looks like a counter service restaurant but it's actually table service and the decor is strangely spartan. The overall look and feel of the dining room doesn't match the high quality of the food. Just a bit strange but also that's nitpicking a bit.
Definitely suggest they open for breakfast--on the weekends at least. We need a good southern breakfast place around here. Also, would love to see them open a bar in the restaurant. Would make for a great night out.
My wife and I visited the new Sadie's Southern for the first time at lunch today. We were very pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. Our server was friendly and helpful. The food was terrific! For starters we had the mushroom soup. It was delicious. I am not a Southerner so I can't know all the ins and outs of fried chicken, but what they served me was the best I have had since I moved to NC. Far superior to what I was served at Mama Dips which is supposed to be great. My wife had the shrimp salad sandwich and loved it. I could write a whole review just about the fabulous French fries. These were some of the best we have ever had in our 70 years on the planet. We will definitely return. My one word of advice to the owners is to create a website for the restaurant, and establish a presence on TripAdvisor and maybe Open Table. It was hard to find info on the place. Good luck in this new endeavor!
