You don’t come here dressed to impress. It’s not that kind of place. But if you want authentic pork barbecue and slaw served with typical southern flair. The pork should be smothered with their vinegar based sauce. Then each bite has that tangy taste. The pork has the right amount of seasoning and onions he taste and texture is true to NC Pork barbecue. I’m he slaw is homemade and has awonderful black pepper finish as it clears the palate in route to the tummy. Add this location to your pork barbecue restaurant hopping.

I have used Allen & Son for years, personally and professionally. It has NEVER disappointed! The BBQ is outstanding and they have the BEST hushpuppies you'll ever eat. I would highly recommend calling Jimmy and his staff for your next event or your next takeout dinner. Delicious!!

We have been eating barbeque here for over 35 years and loving every bite! Usually we eat in but occasionally we take out and that's great too.
Atmosphere is pure NC BBQ place and food is best in the state. Recently brought a visitor here from Australia and she loved it too. In her honor we ordered the banana pudding which I had never had here before. I am now addicted to that as well. Um! Um! Um!

Big plates of country cooking in a bare-bones and somehow home-like atmosphere. My fav is their sweet potato waffle fries and their "pig-picking cake". The prices are a little more than I expected but so worth it since the plates are so big. There's nothing that I haven't liked that I've ordered there.

They have pretty good food here. The BBQ itself is really good. My husband gets disappointed a lot when we go here because they don't always have banana pudding. The only thing that would be a con, is that the debit card machine didn't work the last two times we were there. But we do recommend this place for a quick bite.
