Food is great. Service is usually good. Drinks aren’t bad. Guac is life.
This is one of those places you stumble across and keep coming back to again and again. We first stopped some years ago on a trip. It is about an hour from us on a major western route. I would say we eat there about three or four times a year.
External appearance is okay but not great. The strip mall has seen better days. Inside is pretty standard booths and tables with nice decorating. If you are into appearances over substance, probably not for you.
A good menu selection with all the standards and a handful of unique dishes. The food has always been very good and this visit was great. The waiter said they have a new cook.
Service staff is good, probably great by today's standards, especially the young man who helped out our waitress. Food cost is reasonable for the budget minded.
I would recommend this to anyone traveling past Siler City where 64 hits 421.
Compadres is an old staple in the small town of Siler City. If you want a good "Old Mexico" themed restaurant this far north of the border, this place is for you. The food is good, the service is top notch, and the atmosphere is second to none. The bar has all things you'd expect, and a good selection including an in-house brew found only in Central NC called Red Oak (preservative free with a good taste). I guarantee that you'll not be disappointed with this place.
Used to have shreded beef, that was really good, but quit serving this. Other food is good, but not great. They do have 3 grades of Salsa---Mild (which is very good), Medium and very hot (only for the brave). They also serve white stuff with your chips---OK but a little hot. Chicken, Beef and Shrimp Salads are great.
