I love supporting owner run restaurants. The Honey Hog is in a lovely old home in a small town in western NC. Worth the drive
Fresh farm to table food. The brisket on Saturday night was delicious. We had two appetizers, cheese curds and onion rings. Both perfect. Few domestic beers and more local IPAs. Support community restaurants. Owner is a true Grill Master
Worth the wait, we went at 7 pm on Saturday and waited 25 minutes. Once seated, we had food served in less than 10 minutes.
All 4 of us had the brisket. We had 3 appetizers. BBQ cheese fries, cheese curds and onion rings. Delicious desserts if you still have room after eating as the servings are large. Nice place and enjoyed our meal. Waitstaff is very good.
Great local BBQ restaurant. I ordered the dry rub smoked wings, red Cole slaw and some fries. The wings were great. They smoke and then flash fry them. Smiley flavored and crispy on the outside. I just happen to drive past it while traveling. I am glad I did. I would deffinately recommend this place.
If you haven't been - GO! We visited for the first time Saturday. The parking lot was full and we were like "oh no should be go somewhere else?" - I'm glad we didn't! We were immediately seated, the service was awesome, the food was phenomenal and we even had a nice conversation with one of the owners. We will be back!
I had the 10 pc. Smoked Wings Flash Fried and served with the West Texas Heat sauce. The smoke really shined through, even after the flash fry and the West Texas sauce really enhanced the flavor. Their Sweet Tea is absolutely perfect. Not watered down, and really sweet, just as Sweet Tea should be. Our server was extremely polite and cheerful. She was ever vigilant, keeping a constant eye on our table, more specifically our drink glasses. Not once did our tea glasses ever run empty. She was so cheerful and really seemed to love her job. The entire experience is worth the drive, in my honest opinion. I love that it is located in an old house, which adds a certain charm to the dining experience. The biggest selling point to me is that they are a fresh food, Farm to Table, restaurant. They source their own meats and utilize, as much as possible, fresh ingredients, produce and meat from local farmers. How many restaurants do that, anyway? ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
