Mama Kwan's Tiki Bar & Grill

Great vibe at this bar. Great selection of drinks. Had the fish tacos and already can't wait to go back for more! As a picky eater I loved all the fixins came on the side so I could build my own. Staff is friendly also. Depending when you go it can be crowded.

Very popular dining venue, for good reason. Warm, genuine welcome with excellent food cooked extremely well. Varied original dishes are big enough to expand your waistline without shrinking your purse or wallet. We were fleeing the impending hurricane but could not resist stopping for another visit, before our exodus. We weren't the only ones, it was just as busy as the night before.....quality always wins the day.

Mama kwan's was good, don't get me wrong, but not as good as the hype. We had the chicken finger app, fish tacos, pork plate, raw tuna app, butter rum rice, and the chicken tacos. My favorite was the pork plate which was very flavorful. The rice was underwhelming and only had good flavor at the bottom despite being $4.99. The tacos we're good but the fish ones could have come with more toppings such as tomatoes. The chicken fingers app what great but could have been bigger for the price.

Mama Kwan's had arguably the best food from our entire trip. The honey jerk chicken fingers were a delicious appetizer and the fish tacos were a must have (gotta get them blackened). The specialty drinks, especially the bushwhackers, were worth the price. Service was friendly and attentive. If we only had time to stop at two places, this would be one of them!

How good is Mama Kwan's? Mama Kwan's is so delicious we have started to plan our travels to Hatteras so we stop for lunch at Mama Kwan's!! We have even considered a special weekend trip (6hr drive) specifically to eat at Mama Kwan's!
