Breakwater Restaurant

Came here on a Sunday evening when they opened for dinner. Service was enthusiastic and quick. Enjoyed our server’s Halloween costume too. The live music was a nice touch for dinner service.

We started with some drinks. I had both a pineapple lemonade and a channel marker from the drink menu while my husband just had bourbon on the rocks. We then had the seafood sampler for an appetizer and everything was prepared well. For entrees my husband had the fresh catch special and I had shrimp & grits. The fresh catch was fried well and the fries and coleslaw were good as sides. My shrimp & grits had such good flavor that my husband was sad he hadn’t ordered it also. We’d definitely come back here again.

Our server was super super awesome, one of the best waitresses I’ve ever had in my life. The food was pretty good, I got the blackened swordfish and shrimp, it was definitely overly salted but tasty.

Enjoyed the family meal together super delicious and wonderful atmosphere this is perfect for children and families. That liked it being there forks and knives together like a little toddler even though he's left 4-year-old that can talk.

Talk about the bartenders!! These young ladies are workhorses! I was super impressed with their service, cleanliness, and efficiency! Friendly and make great drinks! The food was great as well. An all around great experience! Breakwater is a must when in Hatteras!

Solid eats with some good views, the bar staff was attentive and quick.... They aren't stingy with the drinks which is refreshing... We weren't able to sit outside because we came during peak times, so we opted to sit at the bar. The guy next to me had the seafood medley, which looked really good and offered a few different items... So I got that. We also had the calamari which was very good as well. I highly recommend the swordfish bites if they have them! Good atmosphere and vibe. I would come back again. Try to get there a little early for dinner especially if you have the family with you. 😁
