Johanna’s ~Cafe Lachine

The cafe was recommended to us by some friends who frequently visit it on their vacations. As we were staying in Nag’s Head, the drive to Wanchese was a bit much just for a meal BUT the meal was good. You can make a day of it by doing the Festival Island Park in Manteo in the morning and then driving down to Cafe Lachine for lunch. The food was very good. I got a blackened tuna sandwich. The kids got quesadillas. The dessert was really good though. I’m not a vegan but Johanna recommended the vegan carrot cake cupcake. Very generous size and extremely tasty. The “cream cheese” frosting tasted exactly like a rich cream cheese frosting should. The kids got brownies, where were also generously sized and rich. If you’re on Roanoke Island or are planning to go there, this place is worth a visit.

What a unique place with great food! I haven't tried the coffee because they don't serve what I like, but the menu looks great. The portabella stack is delicious as is the tuna wrap! I absolutely love the carrot ginger soup and was sad the last time they sold out. The atmosphere out there is amazing and so comfortable you won't want to leave. My favorite part is their support to other local business! If you are in there area you have to check it out, you'll be pleasantly surprised with how amazing it really is!

Just had my wedding and Johanna's just knocked it out of the park! Everybody was so nice and they kept some of the appetizers to the side for me and my husband to make sure we were fed. Everybody LOVED the food. Crab cakes were delicious and the beef was a big hit and don't get me started on the bacon wrapped shrimp with bleu cheese. WOW. If you're having a wedding down at OBX, go with these guys.

Johanna's provided a delicious breakfast for my daughter's morning wedding! The meal was right on time and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The hash brown casserole was out of this world!!!

The food was incredible and well sourced. Our group had a lot of dietary restrictions and she was able to accommodate everyone! I wouldn't have been able to find food that I wanted to eat in OBX without her! Thanks again for all your help will def recommend to others.
