May be hard to believe, but this place has the best fried flounder you could wish for! Also, great white slaw and hush puppies, too! Casual dining, and a great place to eat when at High Rock Lake. Barbeque is delicious, too.
After looking at Trip Advisor, I chose this place from the recommendations.
We got the Regular Cheeseburger, Cowboy Burger, and Chopped BBQ with Hushpuppies, Mac+Cheese, BBQ Slaw.
The Hushpuppies and BBQ Slaw were good. The Mac + Cheese - Great. But the BBQ - on a scale of 1 - 10, I'd give it a ( - 4). It tasted like it was made from the pig's butt, to be blunt, it tasted like poop smells, it was terrible. I didn't say anything while there because I had a to go order of food to take with me as well.
With that being said, the burgers were great, say my friends.
To go I got the 3 Meat Plate, Baked Potato, and Lemon Pie which turned out to be Meringue.
Spouse thought the BBQ was ok.
The Turkey was great, as was the Chicken, and the Pie (good size slices too).
Also want to point out that the atmosphere is neat, but they need to put that arrow with the sign telling to watch out for the incline, pointing down at the incline, and better still, put special yellow tape where it is, as it wasn't obvious to look there, it seemed like the sign was for more in the room once we entered into it, rather than entering it, and if it wasn't for one of my friends, face-plant for me would have happened.
Lastly, I do want to point out our Server was very nice, and it was really neat when she brought out a pitcher of the sweet tea my friends were drinking, and extra soda I was.
If I had to do the BBQ restaurant choice again, I would have gone back to Smiley's BBQ. Oh well. Too bad more BBQ Places aren't open on Sundays like they are during the week.
Always great food. Ribs are really good.
The very best ribs you will ever find. Cook's is a bit out of the way, but well worth the trip. Open Wednesday through Saturday. And don't miss free pie days.
We loved this restaurant. The restaurant is very clean. The waitress and staff were very attentive and nice. We had some awesome fried chicken and vegetables. We will try their BBQ on the next trip. I hope it’s as good as the chicken
