Good food good service
Best ribs this side of Memphis. Unfortunately they're only available on Thursdays.
Invited by friends who know great BBQ, we went on their Thursday Rib Night. Great Ribs and all the trimmings, get there early because when they are out, they are out. But their Barbeque Pork is as great as you will find anywhere in Davidson County.
We will be back for more.
Rick really has great bar-b-que! It's our hometown bar-b-que and has a great selection of other menu items. Only complaint is that it is so busy during lunch and dinner time! You just have to get there early enough. Great carry out service, curb, so you don't even have to get out of the car! Full menu is available for carry out!
Your appetite will be whetted by wafts of hardwood smoke upon your arrival at Rick’s Smokehouse. Inside you will find an attentive waitstaff and a restaurant full of locals stopping in for lunch.
As for the food: the white slaw was good (though ordinary) but was a little runny. I really liked their version of red slaw—it was sweeter than others I’ve tried, lacking the pH level 2 sourness some I’ve had. The baked beans appeared to be house made with a unique take on the old classic—green peppers, I believe. The hushpuppies had a great texture and body, but were slightly overdone, and it may have been for this reason that they had an unpleasant aftertaste. The sweet tea was almost perfect—very sweet with good tea flavor. The tantalizing smoke that got my attention outside, unfortunately, was nowhere to be found in the chopped bbq on my plate.
