Good food, good price, good service ????
My son took me out to lunch here and I got the chicken pie and the potato salad with baked apples. The chicken pie was awesome and the potato salad was the best I had ever had, even better than my homade potato salad. The baked apples were not overly sweet like a lot of other places are, you could still taste some tartness to them! Yummy!!!
Service and food was great. Hash browns a little done and service droped some at the end which is why I knocked off a star. But all in all a decent experience.
Food is always good! Service is great, very friendly! We go there quits often.
While the atmosphere is somewhat dim and spartan, Hoyt’s Country Cooking serves a very good Sunday morning breakfast. Eggs over easy were excellent, grits were buttery and delicious (if slightly runny), sausage was perfectly cooked and flavorful, and the nice thick slice of bologna was very tasty. Coffee was above average, and the biscuit was, well, if you’ve seen my other breakfast reviews you already know...not very good. Service was good, and the price was maybe a notch high for the portion size. They also have some lunch items that sound very appealing.
UPDATE:
Last time I was here I saw a couple of people get the fried tenderloin and it looked great, so I decided to stop in to try it. Turns out it’s not that great. It’s a nice big piece of tenderloin and it was tender, but it greatly lacked in flavor- no seasoning whatsoever. The grits were delicious. Eggs and bologna were good, but the coffee and biscuit were disappointing. The server was noticeably kinder and sweeter AFTER she dropped off the check.
