Stopped in after a random Google search for coffee - pretty good but would love to come back and try the lunch sometime! Menu looked delicious.
6:30am waffle house turned me away for cleaning floors, IHOP closed even though schedule said open. Saw Esmeralda's on a Goggle search. I was the only person there. Coffee was great with a Starbucks touch. Omelette and Toast was great and FULL of stuff even though the ham was sandwich deli style ham. Will be back. People seem great too.
My husband and I stopped in for lunch last week while we were waiting for new tires at Costco. We had a lot of extra time to kill besides what it would take to do the shopping and we didn't want to eat the junk at Costco. We started out walking to some barbecue place a couple of blocks away but I saw that Esmeralda's was right there and thought we should go there instead.
We're very glad we did! It's a simple, unassuming family-run business and both the service and the food were great. I ordered enchiladas and was pleasantly surprised to get a Honduran (I think) version that is very different from the wrapped Mexican ones but that were very good. The food was fresh, balanced and light but very satisfying. We also had some key lime pie for desert which was delicious but, having grown up in south Florida, I think could have had just a bit more lime to really nail it.
I'd like to see the decor maybe a little more coherent and less kitschy but it was a casual, comfortable atmosphere and I'm looking forward to going back next time we go to Costco.
I come here every other Saturday with my family for brunch. The staff is friendly and family owned. The dishes are always flavorful, and we already have a few favorites. They have teas, coffees, frappes, and can drinks. House made donuts that are always yummy and huge, and sometimes they have cake or cheesecake. I hear there's karaoke on Saturday nights, but haven't made it that late yet.
Been regulars since they were at their northgate location and glad they reopened again here at N Pointe.
The homemade cheesecake is divine. Good coffee. Casual and inviting atmosphere with fresh and from scratch breakfast/lunch/dinner options. Their baleadas, a traditional Honduran dish consisting of a flour tortilla folded over with a variety of tasty fillings, are a treat. Their quesadillas are kid-friendly but also tasty enough for the adults.
